Good morning, everyone! Today is a great day to learn something new and grow closer to our goals of living long and healthy lives. I wanted to share with you my daily supplement regimen, and why I take them. Let's get started!! (This blog is ad heavy, but it is so you can see the picture and get direct access to all of the supplements discussed easily).
First, I want to start with my probiotic of choice, FloraSport 20B NSF from Thorne. Convenience is key with this one, as it does not have to be stored in a refrigerator to maintain its stability. Truthfully, if I cannot store this with the rest of my supplements, I just wouldn't take it regularly. It is a freeze dryed blend with each capsule in a blister pack for protection. Developed at high quality standards for high performance athletes that have to protect what they put in their bodies, but good for everyone. This formulation packs in 4 different strains of probiotics such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bacillus subtilis. A good probiotic is the framework for restoring and maintaining good gut health.
Next on the list is ADK by DaVinci Laboratories. Full story on ADK is available in other blogs on my site, but the short version is this is 5,000iu of D3 for maintaining high levels of vitamin D. The K is vitamin K2 which helps transport calcium into bones and teeth where you want it the most. Vitamin A carries its own weight and adds to the total benefits of this capsule. Vitamin D, especially D3, is so important for bone, muscle, brain, and cardiovascular health. Some studies even show cancer risk reduction with higher levels of Vitamin D. So many of us do not get enough vitamin D that this is really a must have.
A really good B vitamin is a must in a daily regimen as well, and that is where I choose Methyl-Guard Plus from Thorne. Studies show methylated versions of B12 absorb better and easier in our digestive tracts, so why pay money for other versions that you may or may not absorb? This capsule carries enough B12, B2, B6, and folate for you to ditch other supplements and get everything you want from a B complex. B vitamins are so important for nerve and brain health. Trying to maintain high levels of B vitamins can reduce nerve pain, increase focus and energy, along with so much more. Yes, of course I have other articles to get more B vitamin knowledge.
Hormone Advantage by Thorne at two capsules daily makes the list of my morning routine. These little capsules combines diindolylmethane (DIM), pomegranate extract, and sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS; from broccoli seed extract). Really, imagine eating a punchbowl of broccoli and greens every day. This capsule does that for you to help you balance hormones naturally for men and women! Full description is in my dispensary link and more information on my blog as well, but the take home message is this helps hormones in a positive way.
Omega-3 with CoQ10 by Thorne. Yes, there is a pattern, but that's because Thorne is high quality, consistent, and rarely out of stock. This blend helps maintain healthy blood vessel function, reduce oxidative stress(anti-aging for cells), and improve or maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Really good sources of Omega-3 are in fish, but how many of us are eating enough fish or healthy oils to get this? Not many. This is why it's called a supplement, because we are using this to supplement the gaps in our diet and lifestyle.
The last two supplements I take are new to me and new because the research coming out is new as well. ResveraCel combines two of the up and coming supplements of resveratrol and nicotinamide. Both of these substances are being touted by Anti-Aging research, and while no supplement will actually make you younger, it can make your cells and biologic age younger which in turn helps you age healthier. There is a full blog on both of these items, but they are available in this ResveraCel by Thorne.
Last, but not least is Life Extension Quick Brain Nootropic. A “nootropic” is a nutrient that helps enhance learning, cognition and mental processing speed. This formula combines three clinically-studied ingredients that promote neural processing speed/fast thinking, memory and concentration. Who doesn't want something to try to keep the brain functioning at high levels for as long as possible? Well, I'm all in favor, and that is why I have just recently added this supplement to my routine. Will give more feedback after being on it going forward.
There you have it, folks! This is what goes down the shoot everyday as I wake and start my morning routine. Hope this helps you see that I am not out here just to push a product, but I am using most if not all of the high quality supplements I want to educate you about. Sign up here for direct access to the dispensary, and I will get you signed up for the blog updates. Thanks for reading! -The Supplement MD
